![]() ![]() You’ll get a warning after it’s done downloading that High Sierra is too old to be opened by Mojave, but that’s okay. Your Mac will ask you to confirm what you’re doing, and you’ll click “Download.” ![]() When you click that link, you should end up at the App Store page for High Sierra.Ĭlick “Get” as shown on that page, and System Preferences will open and check for the update. To begin with, go to this Apple support article and click “Go to the Mac App Store.” Fortunately, there is a way to get around this and download High Sierra, at least. As a consultant who…you know… needs copies of these installers for work, this is a wee bit frustrating. The App Store’s “Purchased” page doesn’t show the operating system installers as downloadable options anymore, and searching for “High Sierra” (or “Sierra” or “El Capitan”) in the App Store doesn’t turn up any relevant results. Unfortunately, though, this is no longer possible in macOS Mojave. This was helpful if, for example, you had an older Mac that you wanted to troubleshoot or reinstall the operating system on you could then use that downloaded macOS file to create a bootable installer. These do not consume any of your plan storage. For a long time now, if you needed an older macOS installer (such as Sierra or El Capitan), you could visit the App Store, go to your “Purchased” page, and re-download anything you’d used in the past. On the other side of the coin, You can sync and number of images from LrC to the Adobe Cloud and these are sent as small proxy Preview files. The 20GB plan is not very convenient if you are running very many images through the Lightroom app to the Adobe Cloud. Then with Lightroom Classic, you can sync those images from the Adobe Cloud to your Lightroom Classic Catalog and store full size images locally as you do now with your version of LR 5.7. ![]() Once you have a Photography Plan, you can sync images from any device running Lightroom to the Adobe Cloud. It also comes with desktop apps for Lightroom and Lightroom Classic, Photoshop and a few other apps that you may or may not use. The Photography Plan comes with 20GB of Adobe Cloud storage or 1 TB of Adobe Cloud Storage. Lightroom (desktop or mobile or web) can sync to your storage plan that comes with a subscription known as the Lightroom Plan or the Photography plan. With a subscription you can store and manage images in the Adobe Cloud. The module versions are free but do not sync to the Adobe Cloud unless you have a subscription. The Desktop version is only available with a subscription. Lightroom is an app that is available for Desktops (Windows and Mac) and on Mobile devices. For this you will need a subscription and this will get you the latest version of Lightroom Classic And if you want a Desktop version of Lightroom I have searched the forum and the web but I am just finding answers to very specific questions.Ĭlick to expand. But accessing the Adobe Cloud is not. Perhaps there is an article here on the forum that I have missed or perhaps a website that I can read. I would like to get a better understanding of how to use LR mobile and how it functions. My understanding is that the Android version of LR is free. I currently do not have a CC subscription but I do have an Adobe ID. Somehow my different operating systems will have to make friends! I think its got plenty of power and disk space. The table has 256gb of memory and 8gb of Ram and runs on Android. I recently purchased my Samsung Galaxy Tab S7+ (12.4 inch). I can do fine tuned edits on my desktop when I return from a trip. However, if I can download 26mb raw files to the tablet’s hard drive and do a basic edit in LR Mobile then I will be happy. I’m not exactly sure how useful this will be since I am spoiled by the multiple options for editing I have grown accustomed to on my desktop. I hope to begin using LR Mobile on my new Android tablet when I’m traveling. ![]() I have been using Lightroom Classic on my Mac desktop to manage my catalog for the last 10 years. ![]()
